Discover Langport

Langport is an ancient market town nestled in the heart of the Somerset Levels wetland area. The town's central location has helped it grow into a popular shopping hub for many neighbouring villages, and an excellent base from which to explore the rest of Somerset. Its notable features include the historic Hanging Chapel, and a number of picturesque picnic spots along the river Parrett.

Lose yourself in the Somerset Levels and Moors

The Somerset Levels and Moors, an internationally recognised geological area, run from the clay-heavy coastal plains, across the Avalon marshes, to the base of the Blackdown Hills. This massive stretch of patchwork landscape is home to a wide array of plant, animal and bird species, and Langport is just one of its many rustic towns and villages that are waiting to be explored. If you're passing through Somerset and looking for a refreshing country escape, the Levels is one of the best places to find it!

Visit Stembridge Tower Mill

Stembridge Tower Mill is the last remaining thatched windmill in England, dating back to 1822, with its steam engine installed in 1894. Now owned by The National Trust, the mill has undergone careful restoration, and remains an incredible relic of bygone days in Somerset.
