Halesworth: the perfect holiday town

Situated in north east Suffolk, less than 10 miles from the coast, the pretty market town of Halesworth is the perfect holiday stay. You're a 20-minute drive from the Heritage Coast and coastal towns like Reydon. Halesworth's known for having the biggest Millennium Green in the country - 50 acres, to be exact - which offers walking trails and plenty of wildlife to explore.

Explore Halesworth's rich history

Halesworth was home to a busy malting and brewing industry in the 19th century, and there's trails to tell you all about its past. The town has two museums: the Halesworth and District Museum takes you back 10,000 years through the Bronze Age all the way to the Victorian industrialists and the 20th century, while the Halesworth Airfield Museum explores the town's involvement in the Second World War.

A hub of shopping and arts

Halesworth's town centre is based around the Thoroughfare, a beautiful street lined with independent shops. Far from the chains that make up many high streets, you'll find an old-fashioned toy shop, a traditional sweet shop and a quirky bookshop among the town's fares.

Nearby, the Cut Arts Centre hosts the Halesworth Arts Festival every autumn, but for the rest of the year, it's the town's performing arts hub and a great place to watch the local talent.
