Discover Leiston

Leiston is a short way inland from the RSPB nature reserve Minsmere, and a great base for anyone who's exploring the coastline of Suffolk. Aside from the surrounding natural beauty, Leiston has a very interesting history for a relatively small place. Its 14th century ruined abbey is swathed in the spirits of medieval England, and the Long Shop Museum tells the intriguing story of Leiston's industrial past.

Welcome to Ipswich

The oldest continually inhabited town in England, Ipswich boasts a fascinating history, a modern, dynamic artistic scene, and award-winning place to eat and drink. The Ipswich Museum will bring you up-close with artefacts from the Saxon era, ancient Egypt, and other ancient civilizations. If you're going for something a little more modern, head to DanceEast for one of its productions, hosting internationally-acclaimed dance companies and choreographers, or the New Wolsey Theatre to check out its eclectic programme of productions.

Step back in time at Christchurch Mansion

Christchurch is one of Suffolk's most impressive historical sites; a beautiful Tudor mansion with a story stretching back over 500 years. Visitors can spend a delightful day out exploring its preserved period rooms, from its Georgian saloon to its Tudor kitchen, walking through five centuries of engrossing English history.
