Tee off around Minworth

Situated Near Sutton Coldfield, Minworth is a village on the north-eastern fringes of Birmingham, conveniently placed for both the M6 and M42 motorways.

Keen golfers can find several courses within a 15-minute drive of Minworth, including Walmley, a beautiful parkland course that's been challenging golfers for more than 100 years, and the world-famous Belfry, scene of memorable Ryder Cup battles

This historic town has an appealing mix of high-street retailers, independent boutiques and vibrant restaurants clustered around main shopping street The Parade. Culture vultures should head for the Highbury Theatre or the art deco Empire Cinema.

One of the town's most popular places is the sprawling 2,400-acre Sutton Park, with woodlands, open meadows, playgrounds, restaurants, seven pools and lakes, and even a donkey sanctuary to explore. Elsewhere, the town's New Hall Valley Country Park includes one of Birmingham's only working watermills.

A 15-minute drive away is this exciting assortment of high-octane rides, animals and Thomas Land for Thomas the Tank Engine fans. Scream at the top of your voice on thrill rides Shockwave, Europe's first stand-up roller coaster, and drop tower Apocalypse. Meet kangaroos, tigers and porcupines at the conservation zoo, where youngsters can feed monkeys or make a mealworm sandcastle for the resident meerkats.
