A relaxing day by the water in Upton upon Severn

Upton upon Severn is a picture-perfect small town in Worcestershire, on the banks of the River Severn and around seven miles north of Tewkesbury. With its location between the Malverns and the Cotswolds, it's a great base from which to explore some of England's prettiest scenery, but there's also plenty to do in the town itself. Well known locally for its music scene, with blues, jazz, water and folk festivals taking place over the summer, perhaps the best way to enjoy Upton is to sample a pint in one of the town's pubs - try the 16th century White Lion Hotel for starters. Other local points of interest include The Tudor House Museum, The Map Shop and Clive's Fruit Farm where you can pick your own in the summer months.

Exploring the Malverns and Worcestershire

The Malvern Museum of Local History is only 15 minutes away by car and a great value day out. Kids will love the chance to dress up as monks or peasants in the Medieval Room. The delightful town of Tewkesbury is also Nearby and home to a new leisure centre plus interesting museums and lots of independent specialist shops. Croome Court, run by the National Trust, is just a 10-minute drive away and set in a lovely Capability Brown-designed landscape.
