It's all Greek to us at Bradfield College

Founded in 1850 by Thomas Stevens, Rector and Lord of the Manor of Bradfield Near Reading in Berkshire, Bradfield College is an independent school catering to both boarding and day pupils. It's now part of a group of schools that also includes Harrow, Wellington College and Charterhouse and is famous for producing plays in Ancient Greek. Novelist Louis de Bernieres and comedian Tony Hancock are former pupils.

Upstairs and Downstairs at Basildon Park

Less than 4 miles from Bradfield is Basildon Park, a National Trust Property. Despite being built in an 18th century Palladian style, its interiors are set out as they would have been during the 1950s, giving it a more homely and less austere feel. Visitors can explore its lovingly restored formal rooms and kitchen areas, and there are always examples from an extensive collection of Old Masters on display.

Animal encounters at Bucklebury Farm & Deer Safari Park

Just over 5 miles from Bradfield is Bucklebury Farm and Deer Safari Park. Children and adults can get face-to-face with animals such as llamas, donkeys, Shetland ponies, and pigs - and even bottle feed lambs, as well as learn about bushcraft, grab a meal and explore the grounds.
