Experience Buckingham history

Pay a visit to Taplow Court, a large, mid-19th century mansion in Buckinghamshire located above the Thames, currently used as the home of SGI-UK, a lay Buddhist society. Walk around the house, explore the museum, then wander around the beautiful grounds, complete with roaming deer.

Family days out

Just down the road from Taplow is Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of the Queen and the largest inhabited castle in the world. Walk around the State Apartments, visit the Semi State rooms, climb the 200 steps to the iconic Round Tower, and take part in one of the many family activities run at weekends and during school holidays. Cross the bridge at Boulters Lock to access Ray Mill Island, a great day out with plenty of space for picnics, a cafe, an adventure playground, an aviary and guinea pig enclosure and wooden animals dotted around for imaginative play.
