Long walks Near Ffos Las

Built on what was once the largest open cast mine in Europe, Ffos Las Racecourse was completed in 2009 and hosts both flat and national hunt meets. It's close to the village of Flos Las, which sits in the lush Gwendraeth Valley in Carmarthenshire, west Wales. A short drive away, Pembrey Country offers gorgeous walks along the Welsh coast. In Ffos Las itself, golfers can enjoy a round at Glyn Abbey, which also serves up a mean Sunday roast.

Lovely Llanelli

Ffos Las is just 15 minutes by car from Llanelli, the largest town in Carmarthenshire. Art buffs should head to Parc Howard Museum and Art Gallery to see locally-made pottery and paintings housed in an opulent manor house. Nature lovers can enjoy Sandy Water Park, a delightful coastal park dotted with sculptures, which backs onto the family-friendly Sandpiper pub. Shoppers will love Parc Trostre retail park, just out town, thanks to its bargain outlet stores and high street brands.

Discover the Brecon Beacons
