A warm Devon welcome at Cullompton

Cullompton is a town in the heart of Devon, just under half an hour's drive north of Exeter and minutes from the M5. The town is well worth an explore and history buffs will love to look around St Andrew's Church, widely regarded as one of England's finest with a stunning interior including a blue, crimson and gold roof and a very rare original medieval �Golgotha� - carved with skull and crossbones. There's lots to do within just a few miles. Drive and operate actual diggers at the popular Diggerland attraction, or book a fascinating experience at Yarak Birds of Prey Centre. Adventurous sorts will enjoy the muddy obstacle challenge at the award-winning Bear Trail, and the gorgeous Killerton House estate, run by the National Trust, is only 15 minutes away.

Laid back shopping and eating in Exeter

Head to Exeter, a compact city packed full of interesting architecture and shops. The magnificent cathedral is well worth a look - admire the intricate external carvings while relaxing in the cathedral green. Check out the award-winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum, which has free entry, and wander round Exeter's great shops with mainstream stores in the Princesshay Shopping Centre plus independents in pretty areas such as Gandy Street.

Have a cream tea at Bickleigh Mill

No visit to Devon is complete without a traditional cream tea and you can get a great one at this shopping destination in a historic water mill beside the river Exe.
