Bearsden - Glasgow's hidden gem

An attractive and affluent suburb of north west Glasgow, six miles from the city centre, Bearsden is well placed for visitors who want to take in the city's sights and sounds as well as those who yearn for a quiet small-town vibe. Its proximity to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park also make it a convenient jumping-off point for trips to the Highlands.

Look back in time at Antonine Wall

The Roman-era Antonine Wall ran through the centre of Bearsden, and signs of Roman life can still be found to this day - including the well-preserved remains of a military bath-house. Meanwhile, the architecture speaks of the area's rapid growth during the 19th century, with plenty of Victorian buildings littering the town centre.

Enjoy a night on the town

There's always something happening in Glasgow, whether it's a show at the King's Theatre or the Tramway, a gig at the many famous music venues such as King Tut's Wah Wah Hut or the Barrowland Ballroom, or a world-class concert at the SSE Hydro. Planning a trip to Bearsden? Travelodge Glasgow Braehead Hotel and Travelodge Glasgow Central Hotel are both well placed, while Travelodge Dumbarton Hotel lies neatly between Bearsden and Loch Lomond.
