Gloucester Train Station - your gateway to Wales, the Cotswolds and the South-West

Gloucester Train Station is in the heart of the city, and runs services from operators including Arriva Trains Wales, Great Western Railway and CrossCountry. Facilities for passengers include a cash point, post box and somewhere to buy a coffee for the journey. The car park has 200 spaces and is open 24 hours a day. Wales, Bristol and the Cotswolds are all an easy drive away.

Exploring Gloucester

Gloucester has a rich history and a good place to start your tour of the city is by visiting the cathedral. It's worth going inside to admire the glorious cloisters, Great East Window and Whispering Gallery. There's a cafe and gift shop too. For another slice of Gloucester's past head to the docks area, a Victorian port which is now home to interesting museums plus the Gloucester Quays Designer Outlet Centre where you can grab a bargain or two. For something different, the Jet Age Museum on the outskirts of Gloucester is a free attraction run by volunteers where you see inside the cockpit of an Avro Vulcan B2 and admire many aircraft.

Cheltenham is under ten miles from Gloucester and popular with visitors for its lovely buildings and array of independent shops and cafes. Culture vultures will enjoy a trip to The Wilson, an art gallery and museum housing some fascinating collections including furniture and clothes from the Arts and Crafts Movement.
