Things to do Near the Dartford Crossing

Just four miles down the road in Bexley is Hall Place and Gardens, a Grade I listed Tudor House. Enjoy a tour of the house, view the museum exhibition which charts Bexley's history from prehistoric times until the Blitz, or roam around the 65 hectares of award-winning gardens, often home to farmers' markets, craft fairs and wildlife displays. History lovers will want to pay a visit to Lullingstone Roman Villa. View the spectacular mosaics and prints of the rare wall paintings, while the kids have fun trying on Roman costumes and playing board games from the period.

Shopping

If you're a fan of shopping, the Dartford Crossing is the perfect location to feed your habit. Sandwiched between Bluewater Shopping Mall and Intu Lakeside, visitors will have access to over 200 stores and 50 bars, restaurants and cafes at both centres.

The great outdoors

Rainham Marshes is one of the very few ancient landscapes remaining in London, and an important place for a wide range of species including wading birds, wild ducks, birds of prey, water voles, grass snakes and dragonflies. Open to visitors all year round, it has a cafe and a gift shop. Beacon Wood Country Park will be a firm favourite with the kids; a welcoming green space well suited to games and picnics, as well as a wide mix of flora and fauna to excite nature enthusiasts.
