Bispham: characerful beachside village

Settled on the Fylde coast, a few miles from Blackpool, the cosy village of Bispham is the perfect place to escape for a long weekend. With a high street lined with independent shops and restaurants, and a sandy beach a few minutes' walk away, Bispham has everything you'll need for a relaxing break.

The village is a 10-minute drive from Blackpool, but you can also get to the town centre by tram. Every September, Bispham also plays host to the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations.

Glorious views over Beacon Fell

Set in a rolling country park, with stunning views across Bispham and Beacon Fell, Bispham Rock Gardens are a stunning example of the village's ecological heritage.

Built on the site of a former Napoleonic-era cairn, the rock gardens are filled with woodlands, wildflowers and open green spaces, perfect for taking a walk on a sunny afternoon. There's also plenty of rare wildlife species living in the gardens - see how many you can spot.

Follow the North Blackpool Pond Trail

With a network of over 20 ponds, the North Blackpool Pond Trail is a fun-packed nature trail perfect for families. Spend your morning following the path past ponds, woodlands and a great lake, and learn all about the natural habitat along the way with quizzes and activities to keep the kids occupied.
