History and heritage in Bourne

Bourne is an old market town with a long history, so why not explore it at Baldocks Mill Heritage Centre? Preserved by the Bourne Civic Society, Baldocks Mill is the only mill remaining as a testament to Bourne's past industries. You can also find out about the life of racing driver Raymond Mays here, perhaps Bourne's most famous son.

Memories of wartime

The War Memorial Gardens in Bourne are a beautiful, tranquil setting for walks, feeding the ducks, and taking in memories of times past. Family-friendly Wellhead Park is attached to the memorial gardens, where there is also a kids' playground for the little ones to enjoy.

Open-air swimming for all

On warm spring and summer days, why not cool down with a splash or a swim in Bourne Outdoor Pool? The pool is maintained by volunteers and is one of the biggest surviving outdoor pools in England, and at 50 yards long there's plenty of space for kids and adults alike. If you're visiting out of season, there's always Bourne Leisure Centre, which has a leisure pool with waterslides and wave machine for family fun as well as adult-only sessions. Our Travelodge Spalding, just a short drive from Bourne, is perfectly located to rest after a busy day swimming.
