A grand day out at Alexandra Palace

Affectionately dubbed The Ally Pally, this iconic North London structure between Wood Green and Muswell Hill is still a well-loved attraction Nearly 150 years after it was built by the Victorians as a counterpart to south London's Crystal Palace - only to promptly need rebuilding after it almost immediately burnt down. If you're here for one of the venue's exciting programme of rock concerts you'll enjoy the splendid setting with its panoramic views, or you might have come for a go on the ice rink, which offers family skating or the chance to brush up your skills with a lesson.

Go wild in Alexandra Park

The palace is set in the lovely grounds of Alexandra Park, where everyone is sure to find lots to enjoy. Kids will love the Go Ape Tree Top Junior Course or you can also have a go at simply climbing trees. The boating lake is also a favourite as is Pitch and Putt, or stock up on some treats for the larder at the Farmer's Market held most Sundays.
