A multi-layered side to the South Bank

There's a great deal to do and see in south east London, and Bermondsey is at the centre of it all. The district itself boasts a wealth of interesting places, from its historical architecture dating back as far as the 17th century - including the church of St Mary Magdalen in Bermondsey Street - to its antiques market and textiles museum. Meanwhile, the rest of the capital's many iconic attractions remain within easy reach.

A night on the town...

London's famous Ministry of Sound is located in Nearby Elephant & Castle - an opportunity most clubbers would be eager to take up. Bermondsey itself is a lively part of town, with all manner of excellent pubs, clubs and other venues, such as The Scoop riverside amphitheatre, lining its wharves.

Take in the sights

The tourist attractions in London are beyond compare, and Bermondsey, in Zone 2 on the tube, is a great jumping-off point. Whether you want to visit Buckingham Palace for the changing of the guard, check out the British Museum, or take in Parliament Square, all are within easy reach. Looking for accommodation in Bermondsey? Travelodge London Central Southwark Hotel is a good starting point, lying just to the west, while Travelodge London Central Tower Bridge Hotel, just north of the river, also allows for easy access to the area.
