Admire the history of Midlothian

Bilston is a small village south of Edinburgh and Loanhead in the county of Midlothian. Bilston is overlooked by the mid-19th century gothic Dryden Tower and there is a great trail to walk along from Roslin Village to Dryden Farm where you can admire the Tower in all its splendor.

The best way to spoil a good walk

Fancy a quick 9 holes? Bilston is surrounded by 3 golf courses: Swanston, King Acre and Glencorse. King Acre is a par 70 municipal course with a special mini course for kids. Swanston has 9 & 18 hole courses plus a driving range and also welcomes non-members. Glencorse is another lovely attractive looking 18 hole golf course in the area spanning 5,217 yards. Designed by Willie Park and founded in 1890, visitors can book online to arrange a fantastic golfing experience with amazing views all around.

Let the kids run wild

Located in Loanhead, the Kabin is a kiddy friendly complex with cinema, soft play area and community run gardens. There are messy play sessions and craft classes catering for all ages. There is a nice little café on site with healthy food and drinks available making the Kabin a really fun place for a play.
