Food, glorious food at Stoke Place

A stunning, sprawling, red brick mansion, Stoke Place Near Slough was built in 1690 to house the family of the royal chef Patrick Lamb. It's now a welcoming and charming events venue, catering for weddings, meetings and other functions. The grounds were designed by Capability Brown and provide the perfect backdrop for those all-important photographs of the big day. The restaurant and bar are open to the public with a menu that pays homage to the mansion's original owner.

Weddings and more at Duffield House

Just a stone's throw from Stoke Place is another impressive building - Duffield House. Constructed in the 1860s, it is also now a popular wedding venue and caters for other events. Its gardens are picturesque and there's space for a marquee, if required.

Colourful times at Black Park

A mile and a half from Stoke Place lies Black Park, more than 600 acres of unspoilt land deemed a site of special scientific interest. Popular with walkers and dog owners, it has well-maintained routes from which it's possible to spot the 18 species of butterfly, birds and reptiles that call the place home.
