Soak in Cambridge history

University of Cambrigde is one of the oldest and most renowned seats of learning in the the UK - and anywhere in the world. Steeped in history, visitors flock to visit its colleges, dotted across the city. One of the best ways to breathe in the heritage is with a punting tour along the River Cam, which takes in the iconic Bridge of Sighs, King's College Chapel and the elegant Wren Library at Trinity College.

University of Cambridge is just a short drive from some of the city's best shopping destinations. Just out of town you'll find Burwash Manor, a collection of refurbished farm buildings housing a collection of delightful independent retailers ranging from jewellery to organic produce. For a treat, visit the spa on site. In the city centre, Grand Arcade is Cambridge's hub for high street retailers, including a huge John Lewis department store and a clutch of popular restaurants to refuel after some retail therapy.

Remember at the Imperial War Museum Duxford

Just south of Cambridge you'll find the Duxford branch of the Imperial War Museum. Located on a historic airfield, it's Britain's largest aviation museum, charting the history of the Royal Air Force and its role in the two world wars. Kids will love the playground and Activity Zone, whilst the museum's picturesque green spaces are perfect for a family picnic.
