A hidden gem in historic Cambridgeshire

Just north of Cambridge is the picturesque village of Milton. Close to the M11 and Cambridge Airport, it's the perfect place to take a break. Get lost in the Milton Maize Maze, a 7-acre field that has a different theme and design every year - before heading to one of the three Grade II listed pubs, where you can enjoy an ale from the local Milton Brewery.

The great outdoors at Milton Country Park

Covering 95 acres, Milton Country Park has 3 lakes, lots of green space, wetlands and a kids playground. If you're the adventurous type, go paddle boarding or canoeing on the lake, cycling on the bike track or running around the park. There's also plenty of wildlife to watch out for in the woodland, water and grassy meadow habitats to keep little (and big) explorers busy.

Be a tourist in Cambridge for the day

Cambridge town centre is just a 20-minute bus ride from Milton and there's even a park and ride so you don't need to worry about finding a space in the town centre. Soak up Cambridge's history and culture by visiting the Fitzwilliam Museum of art and architectural university buildings such as King's College and Trinity College. Then relax with a punt along the River Cam. Planning a trip to Milton? Travelodge Cambridge Orchard Park Hotel and Travelodge Cambridge Newmarket Road Hotel are under 3 miles from the town, while Travelodge Cambridge Central Hotel puts you in the heart of Cambridge itself.
