Come to Callington

Nestled in the beautiful countryside of east Cornwall, Callington is small town six miles from Tamar Valley. The centre is marked by the 15th century St Mary's Church, which is the site of the ancient tombs of the Willoughby and Ayssheton families, and a Celtic lantern cross. The town's main shopping areas are Fore Street, and the medieval Pannier Market.

Explore Tamar Valley

The Tamar Valley is south Cornwall's principal Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, an idyllic, tranquil green space surrounding the rivers Tavy, Tamar, and Lynher. Once an important mining area, it's designated as a World Heritage Site, and protected by work by local and national bodies. Many visitors come here to soak in the breath-taking country vistas while walking, cycling, and horse riding, or from a train running along the Tamar Valley Branch Line.

Cotehele Mill - a relic of times gone by

Cotehele Mill is a working Victorian Watermill set on the Morden Stream, and an atmospheric relic of the heavy industrialisation of the area during the 18th century. The buildings around the mill were previously cowsheds, stables, and haylofts, and the mill is still used to make wholemeal flour, which is used at local restaurants The Edgcumbe and the Barn Restaurant.
