A Manchester town with its own personality

There's plenty to take in during a stay in Swinton, Greater Manchester, and that's without even nipping across to the big city itself, or Nearby Salford - both of which are within an easy commute. This town has a rich history of its own, and was an important industrial area thanks to its many collieries.

Enjoy some park life

The grounds of the demolished Swinton Old Hall are now a triple Green Flag Award-winning municipal park, boasting tennis courts, bowling greens and a Grade II-listed Victorian bandstand, a great day out for visitors of all ages. The Nearby Clifton Country Park, meanwhile, is a stunning local nature reserve with woodland and riverside walks, sculptures, and activities including angling and orienteering.

Days out with the family

The LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is well worth the 3-mile hop from Swinton - and when you consider it's right next door to Sea Life Manchester, you'll wonder how you can fit it all in to just one day. Elsewhere Oxygen Freejumping Manchester, Chill Factore snow park (featuring real snow all year round) and the CBBC tour at MediaCity UK are all within easy reach. Planning a trip to Swinton? Travelodge Manchester Central Arena hotel is close by and puts you in the heart of the city. For those wishing to avoid the centre, Travelodge Manchester Trafford Park hotel is just six miles south of Swinton.
