Holkham Hall - a vision of luxury living

The 18th century Holkham Hall, Near to the north Norfolk village of Holkham, is widely regarded as one of the most impressive examples of Palladian style in the country. Its opulent interior and symmetrical layout has been beautifully preserved and are largely as they would have been on the house's completion in 1764. It remains the family home of the Earls of Leicester and is open to the public on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays, who marvel at its fine furniture, tapestries and works by the likes of Rubens, Claude, Poussin and Gainsborough.

Holkham Hall is at the heart of a thriving estate that also includes the Holkham National Nature Reserve, a haven for the animals and birds living in its salt marsh, sand dunes, pine woodland, beach and grazing marsh habitats.
