Chesil Beach - the largest tombolo in the UK
Just west of Weymouth, Chesil Beach is an 18-mile stretch of pebble beach with stunning views of the sea. It's notable for being situated entirely on a tombolo running from Portland to Abbotsbury, making it the largest tombolo in the UK. There's a distinctive gradient in the size of the pebbles - as large as a fist Near Portland and smaller than a pea at Bridport.
