TRAVELODGE OFFERS THE LOWEST ROOM RATE IN THE CITY!

£45 ROOM RATE GUARANTEED AT ALL MANCHESTER HOTELS UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2005

Travelodge, the UK's number one budget hotel brand*, has reduced its standard room rate within the Greater Manchester region to just £45 per night. This makes it the cheapest place to stay in the city centre. £26 rooms will still be obtainable depending on availability (established on a first come, first served basis), but guests are guaranteed not to pay more than £45 at any Manchester Travelodge.

Examples of standard room rates in Manchester City Centre (correct as at 20 September 2005):
Travelodge - £45.00
Holiday Inn Express - £76.33
IBIS - £61.95
Premier Travel Inn - £55.95

The Travelodge offer is available from September to 31 December 2005. Rooms can be booked online at www.travelodge.co.uk or by calling 08700 850 950.

Participating hotels include: Manchester Central, Manchester Sportscity, Manchester Ancoats, Manchester Didsbury, Ashton under Lyne and Oldham. There are a further two Travelodge hotel openings scheduled for later this year within the Greater Manchester region, including Bury (November) and Manchester Airport (December). Both hotels can be booked from now.

Recent research** conducted by Travelodge revealed UK companies are annually wasting over £1.3 billion on extravagant business trips. 84% of UK employees take over 14 million overnight domestic business trips each year. 38% regularly stay in extortionately priced 4 or 5 star hotels whilst only 11% of UK businesses spend less than £50 per night on accommodation and just 18% will stay in budget accommodation.

Booking budget accommodation would certainly address this issue of excessive spending. If companies were to book Travelodge's £26 a night rooms, the saving among UK businesses would exceed £900 million.

According to Guy Parsons, Sales and Marketing Director for Travelodge, "This is an unbelievable financial hit. Businesses need to set smart spend guidelines to tell their employees that booking an outrageously priced 4 or 5 star hotel just isn't necessary, particularly when all that's needed is a bed for the night. Let's face it; all hotel rooms are the same with the lights off. We Brits are typically cautious with our personal finances and we should apply that same mentality to our spend at work."

All Travelodge hotels offer a choice of either a double, family or disabled room, each offering a comfortable setting with en-suite bathroom, luxury king size bed, colour TV with in-room entertainment which offers pay on demand movies, telephone and Internet services and free tea and coffee making facilities. On site car parking is provided at most Manchester hotel sites.

All hotels offer a Breakfast bag service, which can be delivered to your door between 5am to 7am. The Breakfast bag contains a selection of goodies for £4.00. At hotels with a Bar Café a full English breakfast menu is available - eat as much as you like for £6.50 per person. A full range of drinks, tasty snacks and evening meals are available from the Bar Café.

Travelodge has invested heavily within the Greater Manchester region this year with the opening of five new hotels. A £2 million refurbishment at Manchester Central Travelodge saw the introduction of a new Bar Café, reception area and bedroom decoration. Travelodge is opening a 201-bedroom hotel at Manchester airport in December 2005 as part of the new developments.

Note to Editors:
*The latest BDRC British Hotel Guest Survey (February 2005) named Travelodge as the joint number one hotel brand in the UK (with Hilton) and the number one budget brand. Travelodge was also named as "The Most Improved Budget Brand".

** Research was conducted by YOUGOV on behalf of Travelodge in July 2005. 739 UK businesses were interviewed. The research provided an analysis of British businesses' travel habits in connection to the following statistics: UK employees spend 14 million nights away on domestic business trips every year (Mintel). Average spend on a room in 2004 was £93 (Barclaycard Business Travel Survey, April 2005). Therefore,
14,000,000 x 93 = 1,302,000,000
The cost of the same number of nights' away using Travelodge £26 rooms = £364,000,000 - The wastage (1,302,000,000 - 364,000,000) = £938,000,000

- The £45 room rate can be modified or cancelled free of charge up to 12 noon on the day of arrival. The £26 room rate is available online and is strictly on a first come, first served basis

- Travelodge was the first budget hotel brand to launch in the UK in 1985 and this year celebrates its 20 anniversary. Over six million people stay with Travelodge every year. Travelodge has currently 274 locations throughout the UK. These are conveniently located in most major UK cities, near attractions and airports
