Brits would prefer to wake up to a view of blue skies, sandy beaches and sunshine according to a new survey. So for the first time, a leading hotel chain can now make it happen, even if their guests are staying in London, Liverpool, Birmingham or Glasgow. Travelodge can't transport its customers to Antigua, Barbados or Trinidad. Instead they have called in designers to the next best thing and create a series of inspiring and uplifting window image transfers.

Travelodge surveyed more than 2,500 people to discover the nation's favourite view from a hotel room. The top ten views were:

Caribbean Beach
Northern Lights, Greenland
Niagara Falls
Blue Skies & Sunshine
Lake Windermere
Manhattan Skyline
Sydney Harbour Bridge
Ayres Rock in Australia
Pyramids & Sphinx Egypt
Taj Mahal,India

The views have been turned into window images, so customers can draw back the curtain each morning and enjoy the view of a sun kissed beach or the splendour of the Manhattan skyline.

London City Airport Travelodge will pilot the initiative and if it proves successful, it will be rolled out to all Travelodge hotels. Guests will also be able to purchase their favourite view online at travelodge.co.uk to use at home or whilst travelling.

Wayne Munnelly, Travelodge Sleep Director, said; "97% of Brits said that a wonderful view is uplifting and makes them feel happier. We always like to keep our customers happy so we thought it would be a nice idea to give our guests a choice of their favourite view whilst staying at a Travelodge hotel. They can choose any view from the nation's top ten list."

The poll also found England was voted the country with the most beautiful views in the world, followed by Scotland, Ireland, Thailand, New Zealand and Canada.

Within the UK, the nation's top favourite hotel window views were:
Yorkshire Dales
Lake Windermere
Edinburgh Castle
Peak District
Scottish Highlands

A Caribbean beach was also voted the most romantic view in the world, taking 20% of the vote, ahead of the Eiffel Tower and the historic Italian city Venice.
