This expansion represents an investment over £35 million for third party investors and creates 80 new jobs

Travelodge, London’s first budget hotel chain, celebrates 30 years of trading in the Capital with a hat trick of three London hotel openings.

The three new Travelodge hotels are located in Acton, Bromley and Dagenham. Collectively they represent an investment of over £35 million for third party investors and have created 80 new jobs.

All three properties have been styled in Travelodge’s contemporary brand design and feature the company’s signature, luxurious, king size Travelodge Dreamer bed which sits within a mood lighting surround, which features spacious bedside shelves for smart devices and USB charging points.  All family rooms include two individual beds for the children.

The rooms also feature LED ceiling lighting, providing a warmer ambiance, Travelodge’s ‘comfort cooling’ to enable to regulate the temperature of your room, a 32 inch Freeview TV, complementary tea & coffee making facilities and Wifi, and are available from £35 and can be booked at www.travelodge.co.uk.

London Acton and Dagenham Travelodge hotels both feature the hotel chain’s on-site restaurant called the ‘Bar Café,’ where customers can enjoy a breakfast, lunch, dinner and bar menu.   In addition London Acton Travelodge also offers the company’s premium economy SuperRooms.

Travelodge launched SuperRooms in 2017, bringing the ‘premium economy’ concept familiar to airline users to the UK budget hotel market. This new class of room, the first of its kind in the UK budget hotel market, dials up the comfort factor with a concept designed especially for business and leisure customers who want the extra choice of a more premium room.  With the addition of London Acton Travelodge, the hotel chain offers over 1,000 SuperRooms across 24 hotels in London

This hat trick of hotel openings is just the first part of Travelodge’s 30th anniversary celebrations.  Next month the hotel chain is opening its new flagship hotel, London City Travelodge – which is the company’s largest new build development to date. The 395-room hotel with Bar Café represents an investment of £95 million and has created 100 new jobs. It is located on Middlesex Street, close to Liverpool Street Station.

London City Travelodge is also the launch pad for the company’s new ‘budget chic’ hotel concept called Travelodge Plus.

These four new Travelodge hotels boost the Travelodge portfolio to 565 properties and 75 hotels in London.

Tony O’Brien, Travelodge UK Property Director said: “Over the last three decades, Travelodge has become famous across London for offering great value and making it affordable and accessible for business and leisure travellers to visit the Capital. We are delighted to be celebrating our 30th anniversary in London by not just opening three hotels in key growth areas, but also by opening our flagship hotel, London City Travelodge next month, which is our largest new build hotel to date.”

Tony continued:  “With these openings we will operate 75 hotels in the Capital and offer more choice than ever before with our SuperRooms and Travelodge Plus hotels.

London Acton Travelodge is the company’s first hotel in Acton and the fifth in the Borough of Ealing. The new hotel represents an investment of £20 million for the landlord and has created 35 new jobs. It features a Bar Café and the premium economy SuperRooms.

The stylish SuperRoom has everything that you would expect from Travelodge but with lots of new additional creature comforts.  It has been styled in a modern residential décor scheme, creating a ‘home from home’ feel. It features a new dream-light colour scheme which includes tones of calming blue, warm beige and tranquil taupe, as well as blackout curtains, creating a relaxing atmosphere for a restful night’s sleep. Other extras include: a Lavazza coffee pod machine, a Hansgroche Raindance shower, multiple power points around the room and bedside. (See notes to editors for more features.)

London Dagenham Travelodge, a 77-room, five story hotel with Bar Café is situated on Dagenham Leisure Park.  The hotel represents an £8million investment for the landlord and has created 25 new jobs within the area.  It is the company’s second hotel in the borough of Barking & Dagenham.

London Bromley Town Centre Travelodge represents an investment of £7.5million for the landlord and has created 20 new jobs. The hotel is situated directly opposite the Glades shopping centre - the largest shopping centre in the South East of London. It is the company’s third hotel in the borough of Bromley.
