Keeping You & Your Data Safe
How to spot if a communication from Travelodge is genuine.
Social media communications
Our official Travelodge social media accounts are listed below:
Social Media Platform | Username |
---|---|
Travelodge | |
@travelodgeuk | |
X (Twitter) | @TravelodgeUK |
Travelodge |
Other social media accounts on these platforms identifying themselves as Travelodge may not be us.
Fake Travelodge social media accounts and individuals posing as Travelodge employees can sometimes appear and respond to real customer comments made on our Travelodge social media posts.
Our advice is to always look carefully for spelling errors or small typos in the name of these accounts and to never engage with them or click on any links they post.
If you have any doubts about whether a communication from us on social media is genuine, please send us the details using our guidance at the bottom of this page and we’ll take action.
Telephone communications
When you receive a phone call from Travelodge, we may ask you to provide details like your name, email address and postcode, confirmation number, hotel name and arrival date.
If we need to process a refund over the phone, we may also ask for your card details – but we’ll never ask for your 3-digit security code.
And we would never ask you to reveal confidential information – like your online password.
If you suspect a call from us is not genuine, please hang up, and follow our guidance below to report this.
Email communications
To tell the difference between a genuine Travelodge email and an email from individuals posing as Travelodge or Travelodge employees, you can check the following things.
Genuine emails from us will have an address ending with “@travelodge.co.uk”, “@e.travelodge.co.uk” or “@e-travelodgebusiness.co.uk”. If you’re using a computer, you can also hover over any links in the email which will show a preview of the web address – if this looks suspicious, don’t click on the link.
All emails from our Customer Services team will contain a 15071 – reference number in the subject line – and we usually start our emails with “Hi” and then your name.
We will never ask you for your full card details in writing. The only personal information we will request is your name and email address, as well as your Travelodge hotel name, arrival date and confirmation number. If you are a business customer, we may also ask for details like your business name.
